The Last Battle

A moment in time
Above them all I rose
In the passing hours
Thorns delve deeply into my mind

Conflicting battlefields
Built for digression
Blinding tears give way
To fogs binding the emotions

Strength to fight subsides
Will to live collides
With the desire
To lie down in peaceful fields

The darkest places in my mind
Crystal iced palaces
Tame the infuriated furnaces living inside
Quieting the battles one last time

? Joy Elaine -- August 06, 2007

I sat reading tonight and came across an old poem and Bonnie's suggestion - which I liked but was torn as to which version I liked better. Well tonight I like Bonnie's suggestion much more than my own. I found no way to edit the original post, maybe because 120 days has gone by?

I know I'm really late and I hope Bonnie sees my very late thank you for her suggestion.  Thank You! Bonnie! Heart
